Recently Benchmark PDM owner, John Lambert, presented a talk at the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) Hamilton Section education day symposium. This is a group Benchmark PDM can agree that has a lot to offer in the Condition-based maintenance industry. The days theme was "Machinery Monitoring Techniques", which included overviews of the various methods, data analysis and electronic trending of the data in the current industry. There was other information presented including talks on vibration monitoring systems, thermography, and lubricant cleanlieness.

Benchmark PDM's presentation focused on Condition-based maintenance and ultrasonics. However, although condition monitoring (CM) program is a must for any maintenance organization the presentation also indicated that a CM propram will not improve the maintenance process alone. For that you have to include Precision Maintenance. The secondary part of the presentation was to answer the question of what is Precision Maintenance and why does this improve your process.

Overall the day was a great educational experience for all involved!
